About PetSweetJoy – Our Story & Mission 🐾

Welcome to PetSweetJoy! My name is Celeste, and I’m a lifelong animal lover on a mission to make the world a happier place for pets and their people. PetSweetJoy began as a personal journey – growing up, I was the kid who brought home every stray or injured critter. From rescuing a shy kitten left behind in a neighbor’s yard to nursing a hurt turtle back to health, I’ve always been the one to offer a helping hand (and a warm home) to animals in need. Those experiences opened my eyes to how tough life can be for our furry and scaly friends, and how much love and proper pet care can truly transform their lives.

One of my most life-changing rescues was Lazy, a gentle retired Greyhound (Spanish Galgo) who came into my life timid and weary. With patience, rehabilitation, and lots of love, Lazy found his spark again – his journey from neglected to cherished inspired me to become an even stronger pet advocate. I realized I wanted to share the knowledge I’ve gained over years of caring for pets of all shapes and sizes. That’s why I created PetSweetJoy: to empower fellow pet owners with insights, resources, and a big heart for animal welfare.

A Passionate Pet Advocate & Pet Owner’s Journey

As a proud pet mom to two wonderful companions – Mousy, my sassy black cat who thinks he runs the house, and of course Lazy, the sweetest dog with a heart of gold – I wear the title of pet owner with pride. My pets are my family, and they’ve taught me so much about unconditional love, patience, and the sheer joy pets bring into our lives. Through their everyday snuggles, they remind me why PetSweetJoy’s mission matters.

But PetSweetJoy isn’t just about my story – it’s about our shared adventure as pet parents. I know that being a responsible pet owner comes with challenges and countless questions. (Ever wonder why your dog eats grass, or how to get your shy cat to come out of her shell? Me too!) With a background in pet care activism and hands-on experience rehabilitating animals, I’ve learned a ton of tips and lessons that I’m eager to share. Along the way, I’ve also connected with veterinarians, trainers, and rescue volunteers who share their expertise, so you can trust that the advice here is grounded in both personal experience and real-world knowledge.

While PetSweetJoy started as a labor of love (writing blog posts late into the night with a cat on my lap 😊), it’s growing into something even more exciting. In the coming months, we’ll be rolling out:
